Tony Thacker

Born in England, Tony grew up loving automobiles and after many years as a journalist, transitioned into marketing roles with SEMA, Boyd Coddington and the So-Cal Speed Shop. His friendship with NHRA founder Wally Parks led to a role as executive director of the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum. That, in turn, landed him in Portland, Oregon, where, as executive director, he was instrumental in the build of the World of Speed. Sort-of-retired, Tony now travels the world writing about and photographing fast cars.

Nestor Cabrera

A native Angelino with a deep passion for cars, Nestor’s love for cars grew out of a desire for independence and exploration. Trying to be a cool teenager he purchased a 1966 Ford Mustang that turned out to be a problematic money pit. Fixing its many problems paved the way for his love for tinkering with cars and he enrolled at Universal Technical Institute. Instead of going to work as a mechanic after graduation he applied and got a job with Nitrous Oxide Systems that led to an extensive career in the automotive aftermarket working for some of the premiere aftermarket brands such as Holley Performance, SO-CAL Speed Shop, Edelbrock, K&N Engineering, Falken Tire and Meguiar’s. Nestor continues to pursue his passion for cars and can be found any given weekend at a local car show, motorsports event or working on cars.

Jere Teepen

A transplant from Yellow Springs, Ohio, Jere grew up in a small town with a lot of automotive activity. As a child in the 1960’s, he attended races at Mid-Ohio and the Bellfontaine Hillclimb with a friend whose mother raced a Sunbeam Alpine which led to a lifetime of automotive interests, particularly British sports cars.

Jere gained experience working with a Sunbeam Tiger specialist. After relocating to Southern California in the mid 1990’s Jere became involved with H&H Motorsports and was an officer with the California Association of Tiger Owners (CAT). Jere loves land speed racing and currently holds the G/BGC record at El Mirage in the team’s USAutomotive.co.uk—sponsored ’85 Dodge Charger at 193.782 mph.
